Alumni Take On Hostel Construction on Turnkey Basis
On August 25, 2021, IIT Bombay signed an innovative partnership agreement with its alumni organizations - IITB Alumni Association (IITBAA) and IITB Heritage Foundation (IITBHF). Under this partnership agreement, the alumni organizations will take responsibility for all fund raising, design, construction, and project management for a new 848 rooms hostel complex. This is the first of many hostels to come which will be completely funded and built by the Alumni. This initiative by the Alumni to support IIT Bombay in catering to its student housing needs, is named Project Evergreen.

Alumni, heritage foundation to raise ₹120 crore to build new hostel complex for IIT-Bombay students
IIT-B alumni association will be primarily responsible for all funding, design, construction and project management activities. Alumni will help build this hostel complex that will replace the existing site that houses H7 and H8 on IIT-Bombay campus.
In a 1st, IIT-Bombay alumni to plan & build hostel on on campus, will raise Rs 135 crore
IIT-Bombay’s alumni will be launching a drive to raise Rs 120-135 crore to design and build a world-class hostel complex with 1,000-1,500 rooms.
